As others have mentioned a beautiful road to ride, but try to avoid the summer holidays. Speed limit for most of the area has now been lowered to 80kph in many sections.

Be very careful passing cars, especially East of Apollo Bay, as their are reports that police target the few straights there are for overtaking opportunities.

Kangaroos can be a hazard near Port Campbell if traveling their near dusk / dawn. Week days out of school holidays are your best option.

A real Bucket List road. Spectacular scenery, make sure you take time to check it out, wicked corners, throwing everything at you, very exhilarating. If you are able, do it mid week, try to travel East [against most of the traffic], & do it early. Before the campers get on the road. We were told to watch for cops, but didn`t see any, & for asian tourists who turn onto the wrong side of the road. We had no dramas.
Also check out the, nearby, Otway Ranges, if you have time.

Just come back from a ride, Anglesea to Port Fairy, over a 2 day period. Definitely not good to do on a week end! Too many cars driving slow, and not enough passing lanes. Beautiful scenery makes up for that tho. Riding through the Otway Nat Pk area was lovely. Some great twisties through the forested areas, and farmland. Then nice straight roads into Port Campbell. Second day continue on to Port Fairy, stopping off at the sights to see, London Br etc. Nice ride all the way to Pt Fairy and then head up to Camperdown, but thats another ride, entirely.

An absolutely beautiful stretch of road that goes on and on and on. Weekdays are best as it does tend to get quite busy, but, all in all its hard to beat a trip along the GOR for pure unadulterated bliss. And then theres the scenery, 10/10.

If you are riding the Gread Ocean Road, this side route is an absolute must. It takes you up and over the spectacular Otways National Park. There are plenty of 100Kph (60mph) twistys that will keep your body moving and adrenaline pumping. Recent resurfacing on the knee-down sections offers smooth, joyful riding. Be careful of the occasional damp or mossy corner during the drier months, and this road is almost unridable after rain during the winter months. While it doesnt attract quite as much traffic as the Great Ocean Road, there are still many sightseers who may stop on blind corners to take photos, so be careful.

One of the best roads and in places challenging. To my mind the best part of the road is about 12 km of fabulous corners starting in Lorne and heading west. Traffic anywhere near school hollidays is appalling. Mid week and on a sunny day it is hard to beat. This is a road cut into the sea cliffs ... mistakes can be very costly. Also, winter rains can generate mud and rock falls which can make some of the blind corners interesting ;-)
